It's time for another update from DrupalCon Copenhagen! This time around we have updated information on the core developer summit, the unconference, and the code sprint.
Official ProgramFirst of all, we are happy to announce that the final version of the program is now available on the site. The few remaining slots in the schedule will be used for sponsor sessions and lightning talks. We'll try to keep schedule changes to a minimum, but if we do have to shuffle a few sessions around, this is the page to watch. Also, we'll make the entire program available as a PDF if you would rather keep it on your laptop or print a copy to keep in your pocket during the conference.
Now that the program has been finished, you can start planning your DrupalCon Copenhagen. Go to the session schedule and add all your favorite sessions to your personal schedule. You can see a list of your chosen sessions by going to your user profile and clicking the "My schedule" link.
Core Developer SummitIf you're in Copenhagen on Sunday, August 22nd, and interested in helping improve Drupal core, you should participate in the Core Developer Summit. The summit will provide opportunities both for people to discuss changes to Drupal code and processes as well as people interested to move Drupal 7 closer to release. The summit will start wit three shorts sessions by Dries Buytaert, Sam Boyer, and Jen Simmons. After the kick-off sessions, the summit will break up into two groups, with plenty of space to be fruitful and get stuff done. All ideas are welcome!

Hi all,
A few days ago we released the first stable version of the D2C module. Using this module you get a way of embedding QR codes linked to Drupal nodes in your site, as well as to other contents such as local stored files, VCards, etc. (included URL shortening and statistics). All the functionality is integrated in a dashboard section inside the Drupal administration pages, included some analytics features. Check out the module features and screenshots for more information.
We would like to ask your help for testing the module in your Drupal 6.x sites. It can be installed & configured in a couple of minutes. Right now it's pretty stable, but we would like to get some feedback, feature suggestions and help testing the implementation.
You can use the module issue tracker at github for bug reports and suggestions.
Thank you very much for your time!

On July 5th the #drupal channel on the Freenode IRC network had the freenode webchat gateway silenced. This was not noticed until today (July 29th). The block has been removed and information is flowing as designed. We apologize to all users who came through the webchat and were not heard in the room. If you are not getting a response in a particular channel feel free to try look in other channels such as #drupal-contribute where we gather to make Drupal better (come join us) or #drupal-support (where the more involved support queries get discussed). The community welcomes everyone in IRC.
Hi,
Is it possible to assign multiple taxonomy terms to a node?
Thanks!
Mahi.

Hearst has incubated a startup to prove that multichannel publishing can be both cost-effective and profitable.
LMK, which stands for "Let Me Know" is "a startup within a large enterprise," says Christina Bender, senior director of product and project management at LMK.com. The division is fast, nimble, and taking a unique approach to the app environment. Instead of trying to figure out how to make apps for Hearst's brands, the group has figured out how to develop apps in a scalable and cost-effective manner.
From idea to app in 60 minutesThe company has developed a means of creating iPhone/iPad apps, Android apps and Facebook apps via its content management system, Drupal. Bender described how one LMK team member, using a collection of RSS feeds, could create an LMK app on all three environments in under an hour. With apps for Alex Rodriguez and Lady Gaga, LMK needs to be able to create apps quickly and easily to execute their "long tail" app strategy. These apps are priced at $0.99 to $1.99 and are very niche. So, the time and financial investment need to be kept low.

At the Drupal Association retreat in San Francisco, the general assembly set the completion of the drupal.org redesign as its number one priority for 2010. The assembly agreed to fund five contracts to help eliminate obstacles that had prevented the community from completing the redesign.
Five key roles were identified: Architect, Solr developer, Project module developer, and an infrastructure developer. The association also elected to upgrade Drupal.org code repository from CVS to Git to help maintain Drupal.org as the hub of Drupal development.
Hiring process:Job descriptions were developed in conjunction with both the redesign volunteers and the Drupal.org project managers, Kieran Lal, Chris Strahl, and Lisa Rex. The job descriptions were then posted to groups.drupal.org for 3 weeks. Approximately 35 applications were received and a dozen interviews were conducted by the project management team. The contracts were negotiated with Drupal Association Interim General Manager Jacob Redding, to whom the project team reports directly. Contractors work day-to-day with the project management team. The association will pay for the contract work using the funds raised through memberships, advertising, partnerships, affiliates, and DrupalCon sponsorships.
Drupal.org will have some scheduled downtime, Wednesday 21st of July, 22:00 UTC (3PM PDT, 6PM EDT). We will be enhancing the usability of the drupal.org issue queues. Since the drupal.org database is quite large, this can take a while. We hope to be back in one hour.
